Life, death, rebirth; the eternal cycle. One must wonder where in the cycle the galaxy exists. Is this the death of the Empire, the Birth of the New Republic or the life of the Rebellion. Can it be all three; can it be a matter of perception... of perspective? Does one phase lead into the next, or are all three happening simultaneously? Perhaps, for now, the death of millions in the destruction of the second death star has given hope to the countless trillions of sentient beings across the galaxy. The paradox of this wellspring of hope following a catastrophe isn't lost on the would-be leaders of the galaxy, but they aren't going to pass up this chance at peace.
Life goes on, and so does government. With the after-parties over and the hungover cleanup started, its time for Rebel leadership to put their money where their mouth is and show the galaxy a better government. This isn't without its bad days with imperial remnants, anarchists, isolationists and murder hobos continue to make the planning of a new government difficult. It turns out, the Rebellion didn't have a plan to take action immediately upon victory... maybe they didn't think such a plan was likely to be needed. Even with all of the trouble, peace has been the norm for the last two months. Peace, however, is a vacuum in the available space of action...
Time to meditate on the realities of war and victory. With hope resurgent in the galaxy, the light of the force seems a little brighter... much easier to grasp. Although Ronic called on the dark side of the force to pull a victory out of defeat, even he doesn't seem too affected by it.
(Meditation checks, difficulty 1 plus have of any other earned conflict with a setback die for calling on the dark side; so difficulty three plus a setback die for Ronic)
Two months after the battle of Endor, the Imperial Remnant attacked the deepdocks of Fondor. New Republic forces responded quickly, but suffered heavy losses, and the Imperial holdouts got away with a new star destroyer and several container ships holding weather satellites.

I like how the Empire now has to resort to stealing starships. Ha, how's it feel to be on the other side of things, lol?!
