02 JUL 2022 - Star Wars and Chili

As the title says, Star Wars and Chili unless someone else plans to run a game. I have hotdogs to make chili dogs too.

Rob isn't planning to be here this weekend, is anyone else out for the holiday?

25 JUN 2022 - Brats and Star Wars

Brats and Star Wars unless someone has a better plan.

I have the brats and buns. I have desert. I haven't checked for chips, but I assume there's something in the cabinet that will go well with brats.

18 JUN 2022 - Star Wars and Ground Beef

Planning on making chili with the ground beef, still need to pick up a couple things form the store tomorrow on the way home from work though, so maybe I'll see something better and change my mind.

Planning to continue Star Wars unless someone has a better idea.

New XP total is 3705 (plus racial, as of 11 JUN 2022). Last time, on Dusk of Freedom – Errant Fate, our heroes did some personal quests to find gear, finding the mining and breaking planet of Oben. They decided that the busy industrial system would be a good place for information gathering, and opened an official embassy for a fake mandalorian clan that has claimed to be the legitimate government of the planet of Entrala. So far, a few mayors on Entrala (the highest government officials there are on the planet) have promised to acknowledge the leadership so long as no one actually expects much of them and they bring in some sort of realizable benefit to make their acknowledgment less of a lie. Our industrious heroes also purchased a dozen hyperspace commuters to run a taxi service between the local systems as a cover for the activities of their newly recruited spy network.

The Oben system is filled with activity just nominally under imperial rules. Too many ships come and go to have them all harassed by imperial customs, and the work of mining other stellar bodies and building small ships clutters the system further. The imperial presence is dominated by the deepdock building Preators, the deepdock's Preator protectors and the Maelstrom-class star destroyer orbiting the planet as the base for customs inspections. There is a GX-1 factory, Tie fighter factory and several asteroid eaters in the asteroid belt, along with dozens of secondary ore-processors and small parts manufacturers scattered throughout the system.

The space station around Oben used for your new Embassy has a boring name compared to the activity of the station; Libation II Recycler. The stations primary business seems to be tourist trap with each adult-beverage establishment having its own version of a drink called the “Missing Are” as a house specialty; some of them even taste good. The real business of Libation II is high-grade ore recycling and resale, but the tourist section makes some good money, along with underworld trade and some ships services. There is a heavy imperial presence, but the underworld trade is considered a legitimate business by the people of Oben, since it is the way most of them really earn money, so the Empire mostly just hassles the most flagrant anti-imperials, and arrests only known rebels or people selling heavy weapons. They would probably shoot any force-users or lightsaber-wielders on sight, but they haven't been any sightings in a while to know for sure how they'll react.

There are Embassies for every planetary/system collective on the eastern rim on Lib-II in the Embassy District; most are for entities no one has heard of. In addition to a heavy imperial presence to discourage anti-imperial activity, there is an obvious presence of other armed security from the station, the embassies and from from the open-air criminals in the area. Notably among the embassies is the embassy for the Null Collective, apparently run entirely by B1 battle droids with a purplish tint to their armor and a B1 always wondering the streets with pamphlets noting the benefits of joining the collective.

The planet or Oben has two bands around the planet, one north of the equator, and one to the south, dedicated to the crashing old starships for recycling. A thousand-mile wide band around the equator is mostly a beautiful nature-preserve-jungle with a few cities and farms, while most of the people and businesses are nestled in between the jungles and the de-orbiting yards. There is some mining of metals and other minerals still occurring, but most of the industrial work is now focused on recycling old ships; which they are good at. Aydian has opened a mercenary recruiting camp on the northern edge of the northern de-orbiting band. So far a couple hundred want to sign up for training, but only a few want to be mercenaries and fewer seem like they might be a good fit with the activities of the heroes.

OOC Notes: The XP costs for a school grants an increased benefit for apprentices, and provides some narrative benefits with minions acting to protect the school. Without XP, the school exists as a social construct allowing some RP benefits or allowing you to make rolls with the school as the “appropriate tool”. Networks are similar. Social rolls to set it up and money to fund it allow you to make social/knowledge rolls as if you had the appropriate tools for the job, but paying XP has a crunchier benefit (and an increase RP benefit). Networks need to be tied to a skill (i.e. stealth or skulduggery), and you purchase two ratings for your network: Connection and Size (IIRC). Schools have three ranks and cost 5, 10 and 15 XP (purchased in order), and each of a networks two ratings are purchased like a career skill.

11 JUNE 2022 - Beef and Star Wars

I didn't see anything that looked good for side dishes at COSTCO this week, hopefully I'll find something at the farmers' market tomorrow (can't think of anything that even sounds good right now... just beef, its what's for dinner).

Star Wars unless someone has a better plan.

Sat the 4th

 Hey Guys,

Short post.  I'm back this Sat and plan on running Pathfinder.  The party is still wandering far underground in search of the refuge of Xanderghul, Runelord of Pride.  The PC's have rested and are ready to proceed further into the dungeon.  Who will be there this Saturday??
