April 1st

 Hi Guys,

I'm back this weekend and planning to continue Pathfinder.  To recap, the party is in the city of Crystalin, seeking info to help them against Alaznist, Runelord of Wrath.  Unfortunately, Crystalin is a state of chaos due to a power struggle between devil cultists, rebellious giants, and supporters of Belimarius, Runelord of Envy and former ruler of Crystalin.

The PC's have been in the city for a few weeks now, rescuing citizens caught up in the fighting and defeating monsters and groups of giants and cultists.  Your activities have brought you to the attention of Runelord Belimarius.  She holds access to the one of the repositories of knowledge that PC's need (the cultists have the other).  And now she has invited the party to visit her stronghold.  Do you take her up on the offer to see what she has to offer? Do you seek out the cultists and try to persuade them to give you access to their library? Or do you try your luck with the giants who may need some additional help?

So its up to you guys to determine what to do.  PC's should now be 15th level, so please advance them accordingly.  Who can be there this Sat??  See you soon.

25 MAR 2023 – Beef and War

Dwight has other plans this weekend, hopefully everyone else can make it or I'll have way too much food left over.

Status: 680 XP, Tier 3, Rank 2

Last time on Absolution... Our agents have freed the Silver Knight from Persephone's Regret, and completed the mission to retrieve the ancient Lighter as well. While she is pleased with her new Lighter, Genator Wot isn't sure what to make of the Silver Knight or the agents possession (or possessiveness) of it. You've successfully disconnected the AI from the ship in order to pass Wot's cursory inspection, but they will have to reconnect it for most of the ship's systems to function properly. Worse, while Wot is having the ship refueled and making general repairs... she's making general repairs (both a good and bad thing). She has seen to the shipment of the space marine stasis pods to Capt. Akahir, but clearly wasn't concerned about them, and for some reason Akahir refuses to speak on the matter of the recovered marines.

The ship doesn't have a launch bay and isn't designed for landing on a planet, but when fully fueled can hover for many hours and each planet in the system does have at least one landing bay designed to hold the ship since there are six of the impressive ships in the system. The ship's weapons include a dozen multi-las turrets for point defense, two forward weapons that resemble light lane weapons, and six forward missile launchers. It's multitude of movement systems baffle Magos Genator Wot, who thinks the ship should remain in her custody... however, it doesn't seem to move for her. Even without a central machine spirit, the ship seems only to respond to those who helped remove it from the space hulk. The secondary bridge only opens for Caladon, who is required to escort others onto the secondary bridge. The primary bridge responds only to the agents, but doesn't bar anyone entry. (Note, this complication is from the removal of the computer core, if that wasn't clear.)

In other news, Wot has become a focal point for the agents' ongoing order's as a kill team for Akahir. Wot can provide ammo and sometimes even be a source of new gear. She and Akahir seem to be conspiring something about the agents, but she isn't telling and Akahir is passing orders threw here so the agents don't have direct contact with his at the moment. Perhaps his lack of deceptive capability is the reason he is avoiding the agents? Wot's current takers seem to be a kill-list she is prioritizing for the agent's attention. Whiel she isn't sharing, she is sometimes slow to put it away before meeting the agents, and some of the targets don't seem to be at a man-sized scale...

Silver Knight notes: We don't have any space combat rules, yet, but the Silver Knight should be as combat-capable as a small frigate (which would normally be five times the size of the Silver Knight). It has a complement if 24 vortex missiles (not torpedoes), two forward lance weapons, and some minor point defense. It seems to have strong void shields and multiple drive systems including the possibility of multiple FTL systems. It can be crewed by four people from either bridge, but the secondary bridge seems to have more access to non-standard systems, but less room for crew.

Loot Notes:

Rhongowennan (You haven't heard the name yet) – The spear carried by Caladon. This spear has an unusually long blade, and haft of adamantium-reinforced wraithbone. There is a large mood-stone set at the base of the blade that changes color. (perhaps with someone's mood?) (currently uses the stats for singing spear but remove warp weapon and add blessed (2). Will convert to Nemesis Force Halberd if we ever gets stats for one)

2 Artificer Shotguns and 1 Astartes shotgun with enough Xenopurge ammo (-2AP, +2 ED) to load and reload each weapon once.

Adamantium Prayer Chain – Worn by Shadow as a psychic focus. Tiny High Gothic engravings discus the the emperor's truth and demand the path of reason instead of faith.

Mar 24th

 Hi guys,

Greetings from up north.  Hope everyone is well and things are going good.  I'm back on April 1st for Pathfinder, so I'll post about that next week.  This weekend I believe Terry will be running, so have fun and see you the following Saturday.

18 MAR 2023 - War of some sort and beef

Characters should be 660xp, Rank 2, Tier 3

You have taken an archeotech ship of the Avalon line called the Silver Knight to the Garden Helix in the Voidmire, the region up against the warp storms isolating the Gilead system. Magos Genator Wot, the strange techpriest in charge of the asteroid-station named the Garden Helix, is curious as to what you have. Your trip there seemed to include a bit of time travel, as you sped towards the Garden Helix for what seemed like seconds, but for which the Magos has told you had been over twenty minutes since radio reports started (although she only received them a couple minutes before you arrived).

Do you do anything before docking the ship? You only really have a few minutes to get ready, and you need food (probably some real medical attention), and some level of safety to relax from the ordeals of the space hulk.

To recap: You have a ship called the Silver Knight. It appears to be similar in design to other ships unique to the Gilead system, There are a half dozen ships present exactly like it, and several larger ships that are obviously of related designs. The ship contains an STC that is acting as the ship's machine spirit. It has apparently been stuck in the space hulk on low-power mode since the time of the Horus Heresy. You have added a plasma kick-starter to the engine, which just lets it spend fuel to start the plasma engine core quickly. You were low on fuel to begin with, but between using the kick starter, the weapon usage required for escaping the hulk and the speedy retreat to the Voidmire, you're again running on fumes, and if the engine goes out, you'll have to waste more fuel to get it started again. You don't know how difficult is would be to get refueled, but when fully refueled, the ship should be able to go years without needing engine fuel, just food and water replenishment for the crew.

Other notes on the Silver Knight: It still needs a ton of minor repairs, but shields, main weapons and engines are up. Its main weapons are six forward missile tubes, with a stock of extremely rare and dangerous void missiles and two forward lance weapons. The weapons alone would be valuable enough to trade for a life of luxury if you were stuck in the Gilead system. The STC is something that the local mechanicus would go to war over, including with each other. Inquisitors in the system might also get involved in fighting for it. The STC is obviously a "thinking" intelligence, also called an AI, or Abomitable Intelligence. There are 18 living, and two dead space marines in storage in the cargo hold. The Silver Knight can't tell if any have fallen to chaos, he isn't sure he believe any of your stories about fallen space marines being true.

11 MAR 2023 – Beef and War (and a side of rice... probably)

Status: 640 XP, Tier 3, Rank 2

Last time on Absolution... Our agents retrieved two canisters of plasma, and four cart-loads of spare parts for reuse. The Silver Knight isn't sure which plan we are enacting yet... either creating the parts for the Arvus Lighter (the ancient shuttle) or repairing the Silver Knight. To repair the shuttle, you'll need to spend many days recreating the shuttle parts damaged in the explosion, you have enough parts to do this, time is the only concern... for some reason, skill doesn't seem to be a concern. To get the Silver Knight operational, you'll need a lot more plasma, at least twenty canisters just to get it started, and that won't be fully operation, or many hours of even partial operation. Worse, even after days of making spare parts, it will take days of starting the engines. The “kickstarter” he mentioned would take days to build as well, but would allow the plasma core to be started in hours instead of days after completed. The Silver Knight isn't sure how much time this will save. This all presumes you don't intend to stay until all of it is done... but will Capt. Akahir wait that long?

The intelligent computer, of course, thinks that it may be of much greater use to you if it were out of the hulk, so it recommends working on that. It doesn't know how much space-hulk is between it and freedom, nor what dangers wait outside the hulk. It doesn't want to be fully mission capable before being freed, but will accede to your recommendations on that front since you have more up-to-date situational awareness. Maybe doing something about his sensors might help... that's his recommendation, anyways.

Deeper into the hulk is definitely more dangerous, it always is... but you need more plasma either way. More reconnaissance seems to be necessary... but doesn't that require the shuttle... which to do first... thinking outside the box might be the first step.

04 MAR 2023 – Beef and War (and a side of rice)

 – retcon: the ship's name is silver knight, not white knight.

Status: Tier 3, Rank 2, 620 XP (half must be spent on talents and psychic powers)

Last time on Absolution... Our agents returned to the shuttle via the dangerous outer surface of Persophone's Regret, having to go through a chaos warband, which they easily ambushed, giving them only scant opportunity to return fire. Upon their return, they were ordered to the Garden Helix, where they gave the report of their findings to Magus Genator Wot, a strange Magos Biologis of the Mechanicus. The agents turned over the mechanicus relics they found, two radium weapons and an arc weapon, and reported their key find, an ancient Arvus Lighter. The magos requested the aid of the agents in retrieving the blood of a worldfish from Charbydion.

Only one precious fishing platform was lost in service of the mission for Genator Wot, seems a fair price for the benefit of such a high-ranking servant of the Imperium. The reward for your valuable service, was the tools and parts required to salvage the ancient Arvus Lighter from Persophone's Regret... for Genator Wot. Seems fair, again, she is important.

The salvage operation didn't go quite as expected, however, after a series of unfortunate events left the target of the salvage operation even more damaged, requiring days of repairs using parts from the shuttle that delivered the small band of salvagers to the space hulk. The final unfortunate event left them stranded until they are able to find more spare parts. Luckily they were on a space hulk, so parts should have been available.

After at least a day of searching, the agent came upon an ancient voidship, in-tact in an egg-shaped cavern. They recognized the ship's class, as they had been aboard a similar ship and a few other models form the same line of ships. They don't have a name for the class anymore, seeing as there are only a few and they are each unique now. The agents boarded the ship, and went to where they knew the machine spirit would be housed, and attached a series of las-packs to it for power. The spirit awoke, and introduced itself as the Silver Knight. The ship's dying plasma core is is trickling power to keep the ship upright in it's cavity and keep the gellar field flickering just enough to keep warp critters out. Many systems were damaged when it became part of the hulk, and many more have decayed to uselessness since. With the machine spirit active, it can give extremely detailed instructions on how to build replacement parts, however, the agents don't have access to a forge world to get the parts made. However, with the time it has left before it's power runs out, it is more than willing to brainstorm an escape plan...

Also, remember you found three shotguns and ammo (these are just random loot I through in because they looked interesting).
