06 Aug 2022 - star wars and brats

No internet at the moment, but should be repaired Friday afternoon.

The plan is star wars and brats.

Comments:
Hopefully this big storm passing through right now won't take it down or prevent them from fixing it.

Also, I dont work, so will be there normally.

Kevin, if you see this, know that next Saturday, 13th, I have to work a closing shift, which means I won't be getting there until about 9 pm.

Internet is back up. Unless something has changed, Kevin's next chapter of our heroic, fiery massacre of pitiful wrath cult will be told on Saturday, 20 AUG 2022.

Last time, our heroes led a combined Imperial-Mandalorian-Rebel attack on the Null Collective planet of Xerton. Having made a deal with a local noble to rebuild his queen's infrastructure when the strange droids were purged, the heroes used the information provided by the noble along with prodigious use of the force to wipe out the influence of the Null Collective... but also accidentally killed the noble and most of his subordinates. Fortunately, none of the resident geonosians are aware of the apparent (accidental) betrayal, so they're just angry about being attacked, but queen is “willing” to accept an audience with the conquerors in order to quell ongoing slaughter. This is effectively the surrender of the only known viable geonosian population. Much of the orbital infrastructure is critically damaged, and the damage on the ground has put the geonosians in a dangerous situation if the “conqueror-heroes” just left; they lack the infrastructure to even feed themselves. Luckily, Xerton is a living planet, and could feed them with enough effort; they aren't a locust swarm... yet.

If you want to get something other than the satisfaction of removing a resource from the crazy droids, then you will need to put in some effort to assist them in rebuilding. You defeated them in a war, but they aren't going to make good slaves. They will also need protection from a counterattack by the Null Collective or their allies. Organizing their resources will be an annoying chore that you might want to get someone else to do, but you will be the main force behind negotiating the ongoing terms of their surrendered existence (the Queen will need to keep the pretense of leadership for the hive). Their manufacturing infrastructure will need significant repairs, roughly five-million credits worth of imported parts for the first 8 assembly plants with cannibalization of the remains of the orbital battle and three months of assembly. More capital ship factories will require even more resources, but that is probably something that can wait. Their grounds factories are mostly configured for hyenas and B2 battle droids, with smaller factories for other droids types. Remember, you have allies in this, both allies in the battle and maybe other allies. Your engineering experience suggests that these factories (silhouette-10 space stations) can probably assemble large ships in three months of work with round-the-clock work, give or take a little depending on the ship and specialization of the factories. They were originally configured for Lucrehulks, Providences and C-9979 Landing Craft.

Tasks: 1)Negotiate with the queen about her new alliance (who replaces the Null Collective); 2) Find someone to manage the rebuilding and resourcing for the geonosians; 3) Decide what their first rebuilt factories should produce and provide initial resources; 4) Decide who much you want to have to do with them in the future; 5) Meet with General Organa... wait, what does that have to do with this?

General Organa has left you a request for a secret meeting at Lib-II, at a pirate themed bar called Gray Beard's Revenge. More a ship name than a name for a bar, and known to actually be a pirate hangout. Security is heavy, but none of it is imperial. She shows up with an annoying white-noise generator to keep your conversation private. A new rebel recruit, and imperial ex-patriot, is planning a convoluted attack on Kuat. Organa doesn't believe that the attack has much chance of success and as such will be an incredible waste of resource, but hopes that maybe you can get something useful out of it. An attack on the orbital yards would be a good time for large scale theft and sabotage. They need more capital ships for upcoming anti-imperial actions, and would also like to sow as much discord among imperial ranks as possible. She clearly is looking for assistance in gathering resources, so payment is only going to come in the form of favor and information (note the lack of an “s” on the end of favor). She's hoping you can come up with a plan to take advantage of the chaos her less-than-ideal new ally is going to create, and turn the upcoming debacle into a net gain. She also wants to give you as little information as possible even after you agree to help to make sure whatever plan you come up with doesn't make it to obvious that you knew about the rebels plans, since your actions will likely depend on the failure of the rebel's attack on Kuat.
