Sat the 8th
Hey Guys,
Just starting a post for this coming Sat. No, I won't be available. This peak season at work is the worst in several years and I just need my Sat evenings to rest. So won't be able to run until after Christmas probably. Hope you guys are having fun, see you a a few weeks.
That being said, who's running this week and who can be there??

I'll be there and I think Curtis might be continuing his L5R game that we started 2 weeks ago. But, not sure, so hopefully he or someone else will respond to who is running.
Hello everyone. This is Curtis. I can run if enough people are going to be there. I know Dwight and Matt were talking about going to a Christmas party, but it didn't sound like an all day thing, so even if they'd just be late or whatever that would be fine. I'd just like to have some idea what's going on so I can make appropriate plans. I also wanted to talk briefly about some rules stuff..
First, I was confused last week about the question of rank. Everyone is fully rank 1. Characters were starting at rank 0 for the purposes of the base adventure only, and even at that they became rank 1 when they spent experience in that first session. So after you spend your first 20 experience you have completed rank 1. Any experience you spend at that starts counting toward your rank 2 experience. As a note, there are supposed to be tests between ranks, but we're just going to hand-wave those for now.. they might become more important if characters start getting too far apart in rank, or if I decide to actually base a story on one of those tests.
Second, (mostly for Paul) there are no general dual-wielding rules. Mirumoto school abilities are meant to represent dual-wielding and also the rank 2 Kata "spinning blades style" will become important. It allows you to spend opportunity equal to your target's vigilance to do a second instance of damage to them, and can only be used if your dual-wielding.
Third (Dwight), As I mentioned on sunday, Kihos can only be activated while in the stance of their element (so "earthen fist" requires you to be in earth stance to activate), but the enhancement effect carries over until you use another Kiho, even if you switch stances or whatever. Also remember that a Kiho can't be activated again while you're still under the effects of it's enhancement.
If there are any specific rules questions people have please let me know and I'll try to answer them before Saturday.

I don't remember how much xp I said last week. For simplicity's sake I'll say all characters should have 17 total xp.
