Saturday July 29th

I believe the plan is for me to run unless Kevin is available; I've asked Dwight to be prepared to continue his as well in case we get a TPK on mine.

We'll do conflict Rolls for the July 22 session at the start of the next session; I believe Paul's character is the only one her earned some conflict for using darkside points, but no ones' actions seemed to be over-aggressive or violent in the face of your opponents. Please post if you think your character earned some conflict for anger or fear. (I will make assumptions on that in the future, but for now, I want you to let us know how calm and collected you are in the face of the ruthless violence of the Sith). Fear checks will also produce conflict, but there wasn't enough time to think about your fear in this one, and little that was terrifying, a real master of the dark side will need to be attacking to force your characters to give into fear.

XP: 40 (base of 15, +5 for the long session and couple of laughs, +10 for the fight on the tree stump, +5 for dealing with Horus' gang, and +5 for the RP of getting onto the real mission of saving the planet).

Its time to pick emotional strengths and weaknesses. We can do that at the start of the next session for those who don't know what to pick or need the suggested pairs in the books. Emotional strengths and weaknesses are role playing guides; but also represent things you might take conflict for and are used like obligation/duty, as an occasional guide to add encounters or conflicts to the adventure.

Loot: The locals do recover the loot form the platform. There are 7,000 credits in electronic parts. Only really enough parts for one or two new lightsabers, but enough to modify existing crystals or maybe make a couple other attachments (you'll need to craft the actual attachment before installing it). Remember, when crafting new lightsabers, you can cannibalize your own.

They also recovered one of the walkers with enough spare parts to get it working. You don't have the means to transport it yet, and you won't be able to make real repairs to it in the future should any systems actually be damage, but you can repair the holes in the plating. (You can't repair critical hits from real weapons, and only have the spare parts to repair one or two crits from strain hits.)

They can update the navigational data in your ships and droids, which is what the NPCs spend time doing, since it will take a good deal of time to deal with the massive change in date while not losing the data needed when you return to your own time.

Also can a light saber have more than one color?

If you go by the MMO, The Old Republic, yes, it can. It can have one color on the inside and then a different color surrounding it.

Hey, just letting you know the next weekend I will be around is looking like Aug 4 or 11. Let you know more later.

My character's lightsaber hilt would be on the large, rugged and practical side, and the blade is the pure blue with the white core you'd expect of a Jedi Guardian. Classical, but it works.

mine is still the standard hilts, nothing exceptional. the Blade is black with a white/clear core(Kind of balance from no direction yet, and the belief that a light saber is a weapon to used to kill with.)

OOOyaa, there are light sabers construction rules in the gm screen for F&D. i picked up box and screen but no read yet.

If it is at all possible, I want to create hilts/handles that the blade would be styled after a Katana and Wakizashi. I know there probably will not be a curvature to the energy that comes out of it, but I want the handles and hilts to be in the style of carved ivory (if there is such a thing in this game world). The carvings I would end up doing myself to portray my journey through these troubled times. These handles would be able to be removed from the actual handle to make it easier to get to the actual mechanics of the lightsaber and to make it easier to do the carvings.

As for actual color of the blades, I'd really like to find purple on the outside and black on the inside, if at all possible. If that isn't possible, then I guess I'll just go with plain ole' blue.

Plan is to serve bell pepper soup. Already have bread.

Some one back into my car today, insurance was filed but don't know if i will have to spend Saturday doing the insurance work. claim has been filed.
Check out the costume hilt option.

Why would you dress your hilt up for Halloween... I'm sure the SW universe has a costume holiday of some sort, but I don't think lightsabers are involved...

Also, the sentinel book has full rules for creating lightsaber hilts. Its not particularly hard, mechanics 3 (which everyone has) will be a great start. Right now, your characters should have too much to do to take a day off to build a lightsaber. For all crafting, you will need to get appropriate parts, sometimes you won't be able to buy them. I'll be happy to provide the value of spare parts you find (finding parts is the coolest way to get parts for a lightsaber anyways), but frequently, you will need to spend an extra day making materials, which will require an easy mechanics check, but sometimes require lots of tools or time depending on what you need (for example: a speeder has all of the matter and mass you need, but a windshield needs a lot of work before it can be a laser-focusing lens).

The first lightsaber you create will not likely be your last. The materials are cheap, and after your mission, before returning to your own time, it is highly likely you will be able to outright purchase hilt materials, in addition to finding them, since in this time, such things are more common and not illegal. I recommend everyone look at the lightsaber construction rules (its only a couple pages and mostly three tables at that) in the sentinels book this Saturday to get a feel for it. It really is as simple as choose a hilt template, make a skill roll and choose off the list of ways to spend your advantages.

auto spell got that one, custom hilt. I read it so it is in either main book, mystic or warrior. And, the GM screen has an adventure in it where you make a light saber. (I haven't read still sealed). Ya, not going to get into light saber till i get into my fighting path. easy till you think about what type of crystal you want in it and it goes nutz. No call from state farm today, so might be tomorrow.
Also, do you all want more buffing from my character or want me to be active more in combat? Cause if i go more buffing i will need help with combat.

Your buffing made a huge difference in the last fight... so I vote ignoring that path ;-). All of the books have crystals and hilt modifications. Either the GM screen or basic set is supposed to have some simplified rules for hilt creation, but I'm not familiar with those rules, and the full set of rules is in the sentinel book, which I am familiar with, so those will be the rules we use (along with crystals from everywhere, but you don't really get to choose them so much as find them).

I'll implement a house rule of some sort for attuning a crystal to give it some effect in the game. Something along the lines of blue and black dice for your relation to the crystal's attunement, and a difficulty upgrade if you aren't force-sensitive (cutting an arm off is supposed to be a real danger for non-force-users using a lightsaber).

The GM screen has the rules and adventure, and i kept it shrink wrapped and who needs an arm when mettle is better.....

I will probably be unavailable next weekend (August 4th) for gaming.
