Saturday, February 17th

Ok, so, we had a surprise visit last week from Kevin, who ran his game.  He said he would be running once again in 2 weeks, so, this week is open for Dwight to get back to his Star Wars game.  He had asked us to come up with a goal for the group by the time we reached 1000 xp.  We brainstormed some ideas, all really was by getting stuff, mostly ships.  Lets post and see what else we can come up with.

Who will be there?

Comments:
I will be there, but I do have to work, so will not be there until after 4:30 pm.

As for future plans. Well, I'm a smuggler and I tend to try and earn my money through illegal trafficking of goods, whether it be spice, illegal equipment, people, animals, or whatever. I'll smuggle anything. To that end, I either need a ship that is fast and can outrun everything that authorities use, and that includes Empire and local authorities or I need a legal "company" that can move through authorities without much fuss, like maybe a cruise/passenger liner. Yea, those can be expensive if you go for the big Mon Calamari, but they also have smaller ones that carry less than 500 passengers. Or, the last option that I saw while watching CLone Wars is a cloaked ship.

Build a trade fleet, but keep some level of it "above board" to avoid annoying complications with authorities. Fleet is a relative term, but the key is that we should not be limited to one main ship or one main location or facility. We need to branch out and have operations in a bunch of places, with the ships to go between them. We do not want to have all our eggs in one basket, be a ship or planet, since all of those have a habit of disappearing with the Empire around. We also want a level of Independence so we are not heavily reliant on others for everything. Without some leverage, we have no negotiating power, which is not a good way to run a business.

I'd sort of assume the dirtier smuggling operations would be a subset of the greater ones. In short, if some ships and locations are basically all legal, and some ships and locations handle the black market stuff, it makes it easier to build "firewalls" in the business and play the game like you see in Shadowrun, with off the book assets, and so forth; all the corporations/runners have "day jobs" where everything seems legit, and then they do other things after hours, basically.

As for personal character goals, helping out the Twi'lek race is a big one, for obvious reasons.

TLDR format (I have a longer format version of this, but we'll need to work out the details as a group)
Goal One: Learn all of the character names!

Overarching Goal (Conspiracy)
OOC: This isn't necessarily a reachable goal in the scope of the game, its the driving goal for those with the goal.

1) Create a “corporation” with fingers in so many pies that no one without inside knowledge could possibly keep track of all of it. The business should sell franchises (even to other characters) to keep a legal separation between projects.
A) The “corporation” as its own entity should have a high level of relatively known political and economic influence, with a less-well-known underworld influence; a counter-point to how the Hutts operate.
*) The “corporation should legitimately own a real capital ship that can act as a public “flagship” for the corporation. A nebulon-b is ideal, or a commandeered star destroyer if we are publicly associated with the rebels/republic.
I) Our reputation alone should be enough to protect our public assets, but we should have a fleet of lesser ships to protect all of our assets and possibly big enough to take on smaller mercenary contracts as well (as training for our protection fleet and advertising for our security ability).

1,000 XP goal (remember, we will already have about 300 when we accept these goals)
1) We should have multiple dirt-based and space-based business ventures running without need for daily intervention on our part. As an aggregate, our legal ventures should generate a profit without our names and reputations attached to our success.
A) Have grand reputations and more “job” requests than we have time to work/adventure.
*) We should own at least one smaller capital warship by this point. Our ownership should not be disputable either in court or in the underworld. I recommend a Marauder, but a C90 is good too.
**) We should have multiple cargo freighters and sub-capital combat ships at this point, with a light cruiser as our real flagship.
I) We should have multiple fighters and shuttle at this point, enough that the entire group could form a squadron to attack.
II) We should also have some disposable fighters and shuttles for missions we expect to have to plan our own escapes from.

Final Milestone
1) We should have at least a dozen “business” ventures with our names and reputation attached to them. Some dirt-side and some space based; some legal, some less-than-legal. I recommend salvage, protection and smuggling (with some humanitarian smuggling to boost our reputation).
A) Growing reputation. Important people should be aware of us so we can get job offers or get hired when we are seeking jobs. If we are associated with the rebellion, then we should get high-profile, high-risk, high-reward type missions.
*) Our light cruiser should be known to important allies and enemies and be a symbol of our reputation/missions/actions. It should be legitimately ours and heavily modified.
**) We need a couple freighters to do legitimate jobs, like abusing our ancient droids knowledge for find good salvage locations.
I) We need to have a couple fighters and a shuttle for missions and the same for our fleets doing legitimate work. (We will be personally doing the less-legal stuff until we are rich enough to hire other to do simple missions).

Initial Milestone (we are already close to this one, think 300-500 XP range)
A) We need to get the “resort” up and running to prove our ability to get stuff done, and create a “home base” where we can get support when needed (this also means cementing our reputation with the Ryloth freedom fighters)
1) Hopefully we have a positive reputation with a coupe entities (Ryloth freedom fighters, Ryloth imperial government, the hutts and bugs maybe). We shuoldn't have too many living enemies yet.
*) We should be upgrading the Kryt Fang and figuring out how to get another freighter while still saving for a light cruiser.
I) We need to acquire a couple fighters and a shuttle for regular work.

OOC: Can't wait for the dawn of war book. Not only will it have new universal specialties, but it is also supposed to have a U-wing in it. I'm also hoping for the larger mandalorian fighter (the one that maul uses in the Rebels and Clone War series). They've also announced the “warrior” splat book for Force and Destiny, but I hope will have the other two jedi fighter models.

SS-7, Speaks to anyone who cares to listen.....
1)I will need 100 credit fee, to get updated charts from the BOSS.
2)After exploring the Holo Net
A. It might be wise for me to get proper software and equipment to explore the holo net
B. A safe library to view historical on battle or go directly to BOSS for such info, i
believe the current government would take interest in people looking about military
matters.
C. Or find my body or the ship i last served on, a trip to BOSS might help.
have you found a set of arms for me?

ooc was someone going to email me something?

list of NPCs that will be at pub when you all get Back.
Alex- human male fighter scholar maybe.
FaceMan- will have name once i work with Curtis.
Diamond- hardcore hard hitting bubble headed Twi'lek, likes her guns big and loud.
Race Sandsworn- Ace pilot, only thing he likes hotter than his women, is his ship.
Sparks- She's more comfortable with an hyper-drive and a person.

oo ya look up occupational Hazards in the smugglers book, good stuff to know if you should know IC.

I'll totally work with SS-7 to get him what he needs, although I'm not a techy. I don't exactly "trust" him per-say, but he's clearly more than some random, low-end droid, which means he may give us a competitive advantage.
