Sat the 25th

Hey All,

Hope everyone had a good weekend.  So what happened Sat??  I assume more Rogue Trader, did you manage to destroy any planets this time??

This Saturday I'd like to continue with Pathfinder and hopefully finish off the module.  But since this is Memorial weekend, I understand some of you may have other plans. Who will be there this Saturday so I can make adjustments??

Comments:
I will be there and I don't have to work, so, I can be there earlier, like around 3:30 or so.

Rob said that he will be out of town, going back home for the holiday.

What is our xp total from last session?

Paul, thanks for reminding me. The award for last session is 13200 xp.

So Rob is most likely not going to be there. I can run Pathfinder with only 3 PC's, but I need to be prepared to readjust some stuff. Hmm, any idea if Dwight or Curtis will be there?? It would be helpful for the party.

Ok, got a question about something and I need somebody to make sure I am figuring this right. Under the favored class options for half orc, it says that they "Add +1/2 point of fire damage to spells that deal fire damage cast by the sorcerer." And under the bloodline arcana for the orc bloodline for sorcerors, it says "Whenever you cast a spell that deals damage, that spell deals +1 point of damage per die rolled."

Ok, so assuming an 10th level half orc sorcerer with the orc bloodline casts a fireball spell (10d6) and does average damage, 35 pts on a failed save. Add 10 damage for the bloodline, then add 22 dmg for the favored class. So total avg dmg for a fireball from this caster is 67 fire. Is this correct??

Well, they did show up this past Saturday. So, it is possible that they can, but will have to wait until Thursday to find out.

With that xp total, it will bring me up to 10th level now.

Not even close.

The +1/2 point of fire damage is per level of sorcerer assuming sorcerer is your favored class. So at 10th level, he'd get +5 fire damage per spell (great if there are any fire cantrips, by the way).

The +1 per die is just that, +1 point of damage per die.

So with your example of a 10th level sorcerer, his 10d6 fireball becomes 10d6+15, for a vicious average of 50 points. (Almost enough to one-shot my character.)

Terry -- thanks for the clarification, I wasn't sure I was reading that right. There are several other classes have an "add 1/2" for damage or uses of an ability and I wanted to make sure I was reading that right. This sorcerer was just the most powerful one I had seen. Don't worry, there are no giant flaming orcs coming soon.

Paul -- 10th level already; I will assume the rest of the party is close to that as well. You guys are on track with the recommended advancement for this module then

Remember, I missed a session and lost a lot of xp from that one session. Most if not all the other players had already been at 10th or was very close to it. This last amount just broke 10th by like 1000 xp or so.

Yeah, I have no idea where you're getting the +22 from (guessing half of 45).

It's a favored class bonus taken each level... you have the option of +1 HP, +1skill point, or a race/class specific benefit. For the half orc it is literally +0.5 fire damage per time this is chosen at level up (all fractions for favoured class abilities round down).

So the half orc in question by 10th level could have +10HP, +10SP, or +5 fire damage... or some partial mix thereof.

Rob -- Gotcha. I was reading the favored class option as "half" instead of "1 per two" if that explains things better. Giving any orc magus or sorceror essentially a free empower feat for fire spells seemed a bit much. Since Pathfinder has made such an effort to keep things balanced, giving one race or bloodline such an advantage didn't seem kosher. Thanks for pointing out that favored class bonus could vary from level to level; I thought it had to be the same each time.

I should be there!

I talked with Dwight and Curtis and they both said they will try to be there. I think both of them are fairly lower level than the rest of us, probably around 6th or 7th probably.

Then they should level up to 9th so can be close to the rest of party.
